Join HULK Construction for our first annual Career Development Conference for Black residents from the Tacoma/Pierce County area this April!

About this Event

The greater Tacoma/Pierce County area is experiencing rapid residential and economic growth despite the challenges of a global pandemic. This is a critical time to ensure community participation and resilience.

Trades work provides local Black residents with an opportunity to earn exceptional wages while having a direct impact on improving our community. Whether you’re just starting out or are looking to advance in your trades career, or perhaps start a business—this is the conference for you!

Join HULK Construction, in partnership with the National Assoc. of Black EntrepreneursEPIC Consulting, Hilltop Action Coalition, Tacoma Housing Authority, and The Port of Tacoma for our Career Development Conference this April to prepare for your entry into trades work or business development!

For those starting out, you can join Brendan NelsonPresident of the Hilltop Action Coalition and Founder of Nvision Professional Services for his break-out room on cover letter and resume writing. Use this time to gain insight on how to position yourself, how to write a winning resume and cover letter, followed by in depth Q&A.

If you’re interested in advancing a trades career you can join Jessie Baines, CEO of HULK Construction, in his break-out room for how to navigate your trades career and leverage resources, training and apprenticeship for gainful career opportunities followed by in-depth Q&A.

If you’d like to start a trades business, now or in the future then join Drea Baines, CEO of NABE, in her break-out room for your inside look at what it takes, what you need and how to get started or grow your trades business. Use this Q&A session to ask questions or present your own challenges and concerns for discussion.
